This tricks the brain into thinking that it is a full-sized sofa, meaning that you may feel like it\u2019s more spacious when you come to sit down and relax on it at the end of a long day.<\/p>\n

If you are furnishing a large space, then we suggest that you choose a loveseat that is vibrant in color so it is not lost in the room visually. Just because your loveseat doesn\u2019t have a big footprint, it doesn\u2019t mean that it can\u2019t stand out. If you are furnishing a room with a neutral palette, then we suggest that you buy a bold white loveseat and adorn it with throw pillows in the same color as your feature wall for a similar effect. If you have enough space to do so, try pulling your loveseat forward onto a carpet and group it with one or two sleek side tables to elevate its presence. Look for side tables with tabletops that are as high as the seat of your loveseat, pieces with tabletops higher or lower than this will look disproportionate in the space.<\/p>\n

Back It Up<\/h2>\n

The best way to make sure that your loveseat doesn\u2019t look out of place in your living room is to integrate it visually using color theory. Back your loveseat against a wall that has been painted in a stylish, contrasting color. For example, if your loveseat is navy blue, then paint your feature wall a dusty yellow or rosy pink. One piece of advice we always give our customers is to visit a boutique wallpaper store as they may be able to have the print replicated on fabric which could be turned into a pillow at little extra cost. This is a great way to tie up your room stylistically.<\/p>\n

The Balance<\/h2>\n

When you purchase a sofa or sectional as the seating for your living room, you can usually balance the space visually with ease by adding an entertainment center to the space and placing it opposite your seat. But balancing a room that uses a loveseat as its only seat is slightly more challenging.<\/p>\n

But It Can Be Done!<\/h2>\n

Simply position your loveseat across from a low bookcase. If you have a fireplace in your living room, then this can work well too. Once you have it in position, then mount your TV above the fixture to draw the eye up and place a mirror on the wall opposite to mirror this visually. If you cannot find a mirror in your style, opt for a photo wall instead.<\/p>\n

From here, you should incorporate proportional elements, like a low coffee table, into the space. But in this case, less is more. Small rooms often become overcrowded, which can make them seem smaller than they actually are, so look for multifunctional items like a storage ottoman to replace a tired old cabinet. If you are furnishing a very small space, then this ottoman could act as a makeshift coffee table with the right attachment so keep that in mind when you are shopping.<\/p>\n
